Eric McGlothlen Plays Upset Kid

Jones, MI (May 9) - The M-40 Speedway opened it 2008 regular season on Friday night with some great racing action in
all of the classes. The upsets have already started for the 2008 racing season as Eric McGlothlen shocked the crowd by
winning the Late Model Jones race number one. The pits were packed with the stars and cars of drivers from all over the
tri-state area.

The Pure Stockers kicked of the evening of action that saw Robbie Ferrier grab quick time over Kalamazoo Speedway hot
shoe Greg Haynes with a lap of 15.519 an average speed of 92.982 MPH. The Pure Stocks Jones qualifying race saw
Travis Shoemaker come from the back after an early spin to pick up the win and transfer to the A feature followed by the
Tank of Bob Teadt Jr., Jerry Holmes, and Dustin Hicks in the final transfer spot. The big 50 lap feature saw Jeff
Wanamaker lead most of the feature before South Bend driver Cindy Stremme took over the lead late in the race and
never look back by picking up her first victory of the season over Robbie Ferrier, Greg Haynes, Tim Thurston, Matt
Bainbridge, Jeff Wanamaker, Scott Rozner, Bob Teadt Jr., Travis Rozner, and Burney Arnett rounding out the top 10.

The Pro Stocks saw Jeff Ganus set quick time with a blistering lap of 13.463 at 100.275 MPH. The Pro Stocks ran two
heat races to start their racing action for the evening that saw Alex Pratt and Bill Hartman pick up the wins. The 50 Lap Pro
Stock Jones feature saw some great action that saw some side by side racing of Jeff Ganus and Niles, MI driver John
Long battle side by side for many laps that saw Jeff Ganus win the battle on this night picking up the win and $1000 in his
pocket. Ganus was followed by Long, Robbie Ferrier, Rich Mersereau, Todd Wilcox, Fred Reed, John Ferrier, Bill
Hartman, Matt Corliss, and Gary Wyrick rounding out the top ten.

The Late Models started out their evening with bang that saw former track champion Andy Bozell set a new track record of
12.681 at speed of 106.458 MPH. The Late Models raw two heat races that saw Doug Rodanhisler and Jerry Zachary pick
the wins. The 50 lap feature saw a bunch crashes starting on lap 18 that saw names such as Joe Bush, Brandon Zachary,
Mike "Bubba" Brooks, Mike Walls, Ed Paul, and Brian Single all retire from the race after the carnage. When the smoked
settle it was the biggest upset of the night that saw 15th quickest qualifier of the night the Upset Kid Eric McGlothlen bag
$2,500 for the win followed by Matt Krywonski, Danny Mac, Jeff Vochaska, Ron Coburn, Doug True, Andy Bozell, Tom
Wright, Curt Spalding, and Doug RodanHisler rounding out the top 10.

The M-40 Speedway will have a big 4-1 show this weekend that will see Mod Squad join the racing action along with Late
Models, Pro Stocks and Pure Stocks. Who will be the first Mod Squad driver to win a race at M-40? Rumor has it you will
see some stars from the O'Reilly USA Mod Series there with likes of Brad Springer, John Long, Mike Zordan, Dan Frazier,
